As I already said in my first post Going around Colombia (Part I), I have many favorite places in Colombia. Undoubtedly, the coffee region is one of my favorites because of its landscapes, its food, its people, and of course its coffee!
I arrived in Salento very early in the morning to a very nice a cozy hostel (Tralala), located just 2 minutes walking from the main square.
Salento is a beautiful town, small and cozy. Its typical colonial architecture with coulored houses attact you right away….
There are really nice shops and stuff to buy in Salento, coffee cookies, coffee sweets, drinks, jewellery, handcrafts, etc. You will definitely love this town.

…… Amazing place!!
You will find beautiful landscapes. In Cocora Velley you can either go straight to the valley of palms, hike around the mountains (6 hours aprox.), or ride a horse….. I suggest hiking 😉
After a beautiful sunny morning, we went up to the mountains….. It was a bit far and tiring but it was totally worth it.
At the end of the day it rained and it was super cloudy…… The valley of palms was gray, nothing of what we had thought before, but maybe because of that I found it fascinating!
After Salento and Cocora Valley we moved to a nice finca near Armenia
And we went to a coffee tour at Recuca. It was a lot of fun, we had a delicious lunch and of course delicious coffee, we dressed up, danced, picked up coffee beans, etc.
Recuca, totally recommended!

Bellavista or ”Beautiful view” in English is a not very touristic. It is a small town located 1- 2 hours from Armenia. There are nice cafes where you can drink a delicious Colombian coffee and enjoy its outstanding landscape.
We planned to go to those cafes but unfortunatley there were closed…. However, we walked around and discovered nice spots to enjoy the view and the sunset…..
